“They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and
to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.”
Sabbath worship of Jesus Christ is our first and foundational calling as believers, the core ministry of St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church, and our primary connection with Christ and His Church catholic, our brothers and sisters in Christ around the world.
At worship, and together as different individual members of the one body of Christ (Romans 12:4-5; 1 Corinthians 12:14-27), a number of important things occur. We lift our hearts and voices in praise and thanksgiving ("We Come to God"). We read, listen to, learn about, and apply to our lives God's Word ("We Hear God's Word"). We pray to God, we confess our sins and receive assurance of absolution, reaffirm our common faith, celebrate the Sacraments, and present our tithes and special gifts to God and His Church ("We Respond to God"). And, of course, we are connected with our brothers and sisters in Christ by sharing in this experience, which has the added benefit of enabling us to be able to participate in the important ministry of encouragement,...as well as being on the receiving end of this ministry,...with those around us!
And then "We Go into the World to Serve and Proclaim the Good News."
Below are some of our past worship services.
